Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 held a highly enjoyable and well‑supported Race Night on Saturday, 21 February, attended by 30 brethren, partners, and guests. The evening combined good humour, lively competition, and excellent fellowship, raising €780 which the Lodge plans to donate towards the refurbishment of the Marina Alta Masonic Centre.

The Lodge extends warm thanks to the event’s race sponsors—Vives Pons Lawyers and Accountants, Fiona’s Flowerpower, Mayflower Florists, Church Kitchens of Benissa, Peter de Graaf Watch Repairs, and Rafe Parker Construction—whose contributions helped make the evening a success.

Special recognition is due to W. Bro. Barry Rowe, Charity Steward, for organising the event with his customary dedication. The bookies desk was run with great efficiency and good humour by Bro. Peter Waring, Lisa Waring, and Trudi Hunter, keeping the evening flowing smoothly.

Worshipful Master W. Bro. Nick Coates expressed his appreciation, saying, “It was wonderful to see so many brethren and friends supporting the Lodge. The teamwork and enthusiasm on display reflect the very best of our Masonic values.”

Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 is delighted to announce the initiation of Mr Mark Brown into the Craft.

The ceremony was conducted under the direction of the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Nick Coates, who led the proceedings with dignity and precision. Mr Brown was proposed by Bro. Dave Brettle, whose support and guidance have been instrumental throughout the process.

The Lodge extends its warmest congratulations to our newly‑initiated Brother and looks forward to accompanying him on his Masonic journey. His initiation marks a moment of pride for the Lodge and reinforces our commitment to growth, fellowship, and the principles that unite us.

Oliva La Safor Lodge No. 112 last night duly proclaimed W. Bro. David Clarke as Worshipful Master for a second consecutive year.

During the Festive Board, W. Bro. Clarke expressed his sincere appreciation to his team of officers for their steadfast support throughout the past year. He further thanked them for their continued commitment, as the majority will remain in their respective offices for the forthcoming twelve months, ensuring stability, harmony, and the smooth working of the Lodge as it enters a new Masonic season.

Last Saturday evening, 14 February, forty‑seven members, partners and friends gathered for the Arenal Deportiva Lodge No. 65 Ladies’ Evening at the Attico Restaurant in Jávea. The President, W. Bro. Ricardo Estornell Canet, and his Lady, Sra. Agustina Pérez Espí, warmly welcomed everyone to this special occasion.

As it was Valentine’s Day, the restaurant was beautifully decorated with red, heart‑shaped balloons, setting the tone for an excellent evening of good food, good wine and, above all, wonderful company. The Toast to the Ladies was delivered with great style by R.W. Bro. Bill Russell, with the response given by the President’s Lady. Each lady received a red rose to mark the occasion.

A raffle held during the evening raised a generous sum, which will be added to the Lodge’s Charity account. The evening concluded shortly before midnight, with everyone leaving in high spirits.

Members of White River Lodge No 153 were heartened to receive a note of sincere appreciation, together with the welcome news that the operation to which they had contributed had been a complete success. Nunana, the 20‑month‑old daughter of a young Mason from St George’s Lodge in Takoradi, Ghana, required urgent, life‑saving surgery after being diagnosed with multiple holes in the heart and a patent ductus arteriosus—both conditions that, if left untreated, could have led to heart failure.

Although state healthcare is available in Ghana, it does not cover specialist cardiac surgery of this kind. The only option was private treatment, costing in excess of $10,000—a considerable sum, made even more challenging in a lower‑income country. Nunana’s parents managed to raise the majority of the funds needed for the procedure and subsequent aftercare, but were left with a shortfall that could only be met through charitable support.

Appeals to the best‑known charities unfortunately yielded no assistance. However, through private donations, the generosity of his own Lodge, the District Grand Lodge of Ghana, and the support of White River, the operation was able to proceed. It was carried out successfully and without complication.

After a significant period in intensive care and on the paediatric ward at Accra University Hospital, Nunana is now thankfully well on the road to a healthy recovery.

The final words go to Nununa’s Father, Bro. Andrew Etornum Hardy;

“What humbles us even more is knowing that this kindness came from Brethren we have never met, this has taught me a lesson on the obligation, compassion, and the true spirit of Freemasonry. This experience has again reminded me, in the most profound way, what it truly means to belong to a Brotherhood that does not only speak of relief, but lives it.

Please convey my heartfelt thanks to every Brother of White River Lodge. My family and I will forever remember what you did for us, and Nunana’s life will stand as a living testament to your kindness.
