Eulogy for Fred Miller
R. W. Bro. Fredrick Charles Miller was born on 27th May 1948. On completing his schooling he joined The Woolwich Building Society. A company where he remained for all his working life.
Fred’s Masonic journey started when he was initiated into the Manor of Bexley Lodge No. 5977 on Saturday 5th December 1992 and became the Master of the Lodge in March 1999.
On coming out of the chair he took over the Office of Treasurer which he held until he came to Spain in 2003. A masonic career path that remained with him for the next 30 years.
He joined Manor Bexley Chapter in February 1995. It was at this time he met Norman Wheatley who was a member of the same Lodge. They both decided to move to Spain buying homes on Monte Pago and joining Oliva LaSafor Lodge No. 112 at the same time, in 2005.
Fred was installed as Master in 2008 and continued as Treasurer thereafter.
He joined Sinceridad Chapter No.4 in 2006 and he and Norman were founder members of Oliva LaSafor Chapter No.30 in March 2008. Again, after working through the Principals’Chairs, he took over as Treasurer.
Fred Joined Mark Lodge 1823 in December 2015, as Treasurer, only giving up the job in May 2025 to progress to the Chair. Unfortunately, he didn’t get that honour.
In April 2016 he joined RAM and, again, followed the same unfulfilled path.
He passed to The Grand Lodge Above on 8th August 2026. Fred held Grand and Provincial honours in Craft as well as Chapter and is one of the few Freemasons I have met towards whom only good words were spoken, and he set a standard most of us will never attain.
W. Bro. David Clarke, Worshipful Master of Oliva La Safor Lodge No 112
May the Great Architect of the Universe grant him eternal rest and grant us comfort as we reflect on his memory.

The Brethren of Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of friendship, food and music on Sunday 28th June 2026, as the Lodge held its annual Summer BBQ Party at Casa de la Pizza.
Around 40 Brethren, partners and friends gathered for what proved to be a warm, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable event. Guests were treated to a superb BBQ, complemented by an impressive array of cold dishes, all beautifully prepared and served in the sunshine. As has become a tradition, the Ladies once again provided the desserts, offering a delicious selection that was very much appreciated by everyone present.

Entertainment throughout the afternoon included a lively Table Quiz, adding plenty of laughter and friendly competition. The atmosphere was further lifted by music from Los Renegades, featuring our very own Bro. Hector Peris, whose performance was warmly received.

The event also supported an important Provincial cause. Thanks to the generosity of all who attended, 370€ was raised for the Centro de Marina Alta, contributing to the ongoing development of our new home in the Marina Alta.
A heartfelt thank‑you is extended to W. Bro. Jim Campbell and Ena, whose hard work, organisation and enthusiasm ensured the day was a great success.
