A Wonderful Night for Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58
Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 enjoyed a memorable evening at its April meeting, marked by ceremony, fellowship and a sense of renewal for the year ahead.
The Lodge was delighted to welcome its newest Brother, Chay van Morkhoven, who was Initiated into the Craft under the steady and accomplished hand of the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Nick Coates. The ceremony was conducted with dignity and warmth, reflecting the strong spirit of unity within the Lodge.

This meeting also carried special significance as it marked W. Bro. Coates’ final meeting in the Chair, bringing to a close a heartfelt and successful year of leadership. His commitment, good humour and steady guidance have been deeply appreciated by the Brethren. Looking forward, the Lodge extends its warmest congratulations to Bro. Rafe Parker, who has been elected to serve as Worshipful Master for the year 2026–27 and will be Installed in October.
In addition to the ceremonial highlights, the Lodge was pleased to report that 500€ has been raised through a Grand National Sweepstake, organised by the Brethren of Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No 58 and neighbouring Lodges. This generous contribution will be donated to the Centro de Marina Alta, supporting the ongoing refurbishment and development of our new Provincial centre in Ondara. The Province extends its sincere thanks to all who participated and helped make this initiative such a success.
Following the meeting, the Brethren adjourned to a most enjoyable Festive Board, where all traditional toasts were observed in fine spirit. A raffle held during the evening raised a further 175€. In a fitting twist of fortune, the top prize — a unit in Fraternal Unidad valued at 150€ — was won by none other than W. Bro. Nick Coates, bringing his final night as Worshipful Master to a cheerful and memorable close.
The evening was a fine example of what binds us as Freemasons: tradition, fellowship, charity and the welcoming of new beginnings.

Annual General Meeting of Asociación Unidad Fraternal
11 April 2026 – A Milestone Gathering at the New Centre in Ondara
The Asociación Unidad Fraternal held its Annual General Meeting on 11 April 2026 in a venue that symbolised both progress and promise: the newly prepared Centre at Ondara. Specially cleaned, organised and set up for the occasion, the building welcomed 30 unitholders and Lodge representatives.
A Warm Welcome to a New Era
The President of Fraternal Unidad, opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to the new Centre—now formally named Centro de Marina Alta.
Building Project Update: A Clear Path
W. Bro. Terry Whitehead provided an update on the building work. Although many brethren have offered their help, there are insufficient specialist tradesmen within our local Lodges to undertake some key tasks. As a result, we will need to contract local building firms to carry out these essential elements. The process of obtaining formal tenders is now underway, and it is anticipated that overall project costs will increase accordingly (see Treasurer’s report).
W. Bro. Whitehead then presented the latest development plan (Plan X), outlining the objective to host the Provincial Lodge of Instruction on 21 November 2026. From that point, the intention is to gradually transition away from the Costa Nova Masonic Centre, completing the move by Spring 2027.
Financial Overview: Strong Progress, Clear Targets
The Treasurer presented an updated financial snapshot:
- Cash in bank (January): 25,000€
- Funds raised in 2026 to date: 24,000€
- Money spent since January: (5,000€)
- Total in the bank today: 44,000€
- PLOI readiness in November: we need to raise 39,000€* more
- Launch with 1 Temple: we need to raise 81,000€* more
- To complete the vision: we need to raise 143,000€* more
*subject to finalising quotations from builders and suppliers
Already, we have received pledges totalling 11,000€ and is very clear that Lodges across the Province are organising events to raise extra funds. Further discussions with GLE and other Masonic bodies both in Spain and England may yield extra funds towards our objectives.
These figures underline both the impressive support already shown but also the continued need for fundraising as the project accelerates. The Treasurer paid tribute to all of the work done so far this year: so far we are averaging 2,000€ raised every week!
Golden Ticket Draw: A Winning Moment
The popular Golden Ticket Draw was made by Bro. Haakon Ellingsen of Green Parrot Tourism.
The lucky winner was W. Bro. Jason Fowler of San Juan Lodge No. 28, who receives a three‑night stay at a top hotel in Spain. The draw raised approximately 1,800€ for the Centre—another welcome contribution to the campaign.
Preparing for the Future: Centre Management & Crowdfunding Launch
The new Centre will have its own Management Committee, which will oversee operations once the building opens. It was emphasised that volunteers from local Lodges and Orders will be essential, as managing our own Centre will involve a significantly expanded workload.
An important milestone was also highlighted: the launch of the Crowdfunding appeal on Monday. This is really important as it widens the scope of our fundraising to non-Masons, other Provinces in Spain and also in England.

• The M.W. Grandmaster of Spain, M.W. Bro. Shaun Parsons‑Herrera, has pledged to promote the appeal across all Provinces in the GLE.
• The R.W. Provincial Grandmaster is approaching UGLE to seek their support in promoting the appeal across English Lodges.

With strong leadership, transparent planning and growing financial support, the vision of the Centro de Marina Alta is moving steadily toward reality.
Announcing the Provincial Charity Golf Tournament 2026

The Province is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Provincial Charity Golf Tournament, our largest annual fundraising event. Full details and the event poster have been circulated to Lodge Secretaries, and we warmly encourage Brethren to share this invitation widely with friends, family, and golfing companions of all abilities.
Our Mission: Charity at the Heart of the Day
Last year’s tournament raised over 7,000€, a remarkable achievement made possible by your generosity. This year, our efforts continue to focus on supporting those most in need within our Province and through our Masonic charities.
Following the successful purchase of the building for the Marina Alta Masonic Centre, our immediate priority is the renovation of the site as we work toward the planned opening in September 2026. Once complete, the Centre will provide a permanent base for our charitable work and community engagement for generations to come.

More than sixty guests gathered at Espai La Senieta on Saturday 4th April for the 2nd Annual Provincial Piano Recital, warmly welcomed by the organiser, W. Bro. Peter Johnson. The atmosphere was one of anticipation and pride as friends, family, and members of the Masonic community settled in for an evening dedicated to musical excellence.

Professor (Bro) István Székely opened the recital by introducing his talented students — Arianna Roselló Sanchez, Isabel Cabrera Oláh, Daniel Kovacs, and Luis Cabello — each of whom performed a selection of works by some of the world’s most celebrated composers, including Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, and Brahms.
The audience was captivated throughout. Every performance was met with enthusiastic applause, reflecting both the technical skill and expressive maturity of the young musicians. Many attendees later commented on the remarkable standard of the recital and the joy of witnessing such emerging talent.
At the close of the evening, Professor Székely thanked the audience for their support. He explained that this year he wished to give his students the opportunity to shine — and shine they certainly did. With a smile, he added that next year he intends to personally perform for half of the concert, a promise that was met with warm approval.
In a final gesture of appreciation, W. Bro. Peter Johnson presented each performer with a Chocolate Easter Egg, much to their delight.
Thanks to ticket sales and a well‑supported bar — expertly managed by W. Bro. Malcolm March, Margaret March, and Florence Johnson — the event raised over €1,000. These funds will all be donated to the ongoing refurbishment works at the new Marina Alta Masonic Centre.
A memorable evening of music, fellowship, and generosity — and a proud moment for all involved.

The Provincial Fund-Raising team are very pleased to present Brother István Székely, a member of Armonia de Ifach Lodge No 46, in another evening of fabulous Piano Recital on Saturday April 4th in the auditorium of Espai La Senieta, Moraira.
The concert will start at 6:00pm and last approximately 2 hours. The concert held last year was very well received and we are hoping to attract even more members, family and friends to a dazzling display beautifully performed. There will also be bar facilities available.
István is a renowned Professor of music at the Katarina Gurska Superior Conservatory in Madrid and Franz Lizst Centre for Special Talents in La Nucia, so we are in for a wonderful evening of Classical Music. A full programme of the pieces to be performed will be publicised shortly.

Crowdfunding Appeal for the Centro de Marina Alta
We are pleased to report that refurbishment work at the Centro de Marina Alta continues to progress. Volunteers from Lodges across the Marina Alta have already completed essential preparatory tasks that have transformed the site. Their work has included power‑washing the roof, demolishing internal walls, removing water‑damaged flooring, and carefully dismantling and storing the suspended ceiling.
Whilst challenges still remain, we are increasingly excited by the fantastic opportunity which the new Centre represents.
The Provincial Lodge of Instruction will be held at the Centro de Marina Alta on 21 November, marking an important milestone. However, significant phases of the project still lie ahead if we are to transition away from Costa Nova to Centro de Marina Alta by Spring next year.
Fundraising Progress
Our fundraising efforts continue to gather impressive momentum. Lodges throughout the Province are organising a wide range of events, and the response has been heartening. Since January this year, your efforts have already raised more than 24,000€ with another 11,000€ promised.
But we do need to raise more money: some jobs cannot be done by our volunteers and we will need to employ specialist contractors.
Why We Need Your Support
To realise our full vision—three Temples, a Festive Board area, and a bar and catering facility—we must accelerate our fundraising. These facilities will serve the entire Valencian Masonic community for generations to come.
As announced at the Provincial Assembly, we are now launching a Crowdfunding initiative to complement our existing efforts. This campaign will allow us to reach beyond our immediate Masonic family and invite support from the wider community via WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.
If you are able to donate, you have our sincere thanks. If you can share the appeal link with friends, family, or contacts—whether Masons or not—your assistance will be deeply appreciated.
The newly installed M.W. Grand Master has agreed to allow this appeal to be promoted across Spain, and the R.W. Provincial Grandmaster will be approaching UGLE to request their support in sharing it with Lodges under their jurisdiction.

Campaña de Micromecenazgo para el Centro de Marina Alta
Nos complace informarles de que las obras de remodelación del Centro de Marina Alta continúan avanzando. Voluntarios de Logias de toda la Marina Alta ya han completado tareas preparatorias esenciales que han transformado el lugar. Su trabajo ha incluido la limpieza a presión del tejado, la demolición de paredes internas, la retirada del suelo dañado por el agua y el desmontaje y almacenamiento cuidadoso del falso techo.
Aunque aún quedan desafíos por delante —entre ellos la obtención de las licencias y permisos necesarios por parte de la Autoridad Local—, estamos cada vez más ilusionados con la magnífica oportunidad que representa el nuevo Centro.
La Logia Provincial de Instrucción se celebrará en el Centro de Marina Alta el 21 de noviembre, lo que supondrá un hito importante. Sin embargo, aún quedan fases significativas del proyecto si queremos completar la transición desde Costa Nova al Centro de Marina Alta para la primavera del próximo año.
Progreso de la Recaudación de Fondos
Nuestros esfuerzos de recaudación continúan cobrando un impulso impresionante. Las Logias de toda la Provincia están organizando una amplia variedad de eventos, y la respuesta ha sido muy alentadora. Desde enero de este año, sus esfuerzos ya han recaudado más de 24.000 €, con otros 11.000 € comprometidos.
Pero necesitamos recaudar más fondos: hay trabajos que nuestros voluntarios no pueden realizar y será necesario contratar a especialistas.
Por Qué Necesitamos Su Apoyo
Para hacer realidad nuestra visión completa —tres Templos, un área de Banquete Festivo y un bar con servicio de catering— debemos acelerar la recaudación. Estas instalaciones servirán a toda la comunidad masónica valenciana durante generaciones.
Tal como se anunció en la Asamblea Provincial, estamos lanzando una iniciativa de micromecenazgo para complementar nuestros esfuerzos actuales. Esta campaña nos permitirá llegar más allá de nuestra familia masónica inmediata e invitar a la comunidad en general a colaborar a través de WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram y otras plataformas.

Jávea Lodge No. 40 – A Warm and Welcoming Sunday Lunch
Jávea Lodge No. 40 gathered once again on Sunday, 29 March, for one of its popular regular Sunday lunches, this time hosted at the Black Flame in Pedreguer.
The event brought together 30 guests, including members, families, and friends, all enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and good company that have become the hallmark of these gatherings.
Guests were treated to a traditional Sunday Roast dinner, served with all the trimmings. The meal sparked plenty of conversation and laughter, reinforcing the sense of fellowship that Jávea 40 continues to nurture through these informal social events.
A highlight of the afternoon was the charity raffle, which raised an impressive €180 in support of the new Masonic Centre. The generosity of those attending reflects the shared commitment to building a lasting home for the Lodge and the wider Masonic community.
W. Bro. Kevin Hamilton, the Worshipful Master of Jávea 40 expressed his gratitude to all who attended and contributed, noting: “These lunches remind us that fellowship is at the heart of Freemasonry. Every shared meal, every conversation, and every act of generosity brings us closer to our vision for the new Centre.”
The Lodge looks forward to continuing this series of Sunday lunches, strengthening bonds and raising funds in a spirit of friendship and purpose.
