On the morning of Saturday 30th November Freemasons from all around the province congregated to witness one of the highlights of our provincial calendar.
As usual, Provincial Stewards Lodge No.154 sprang into action, bringing the necessary accouterments and setting up the Temple. Once completed, the escort team and officers of the demonstration carried out their final rehearsals before heading to an evening of relaxation, ready for the big day.
With an audience representing the Provincial Executive led by the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Rodney Charles Bignell as well as members of many of the Valencia Lodges and visitors from Murcia and beyond, the Worshipful Master, Bro. Manuel Guillen, a member of Hiram Abif 80, conducted an exemplary 1st degree ceremony in Spanish and English. The Candidate, Bro. David Paris Singer, who had been Initiated into Freemasonry using the Spanish Ancient Scottish Rite on 19th January this year received his initiation, this time using Valencian Emulation Ritual.
The Provincial Grand Master congratulated the team for the demonstration, which was carried out in an exemplary way before the lodge was closed.
Many brethren then continued to a Festive Board where the raffle raised 970€ which, with the alms collection of 291.13€ taken earlier.
Next year the PLOI will be hosted by Dovre Lodge No 184. Definitely an event for your diary!
